"Felt totally fine buying tickets here"
I used detroitzoo.org to buy my tickets and it felt straightforward and secure. The checkout was normal, nothing sketchy popped up or made me second-guess it, which I always notice when I’m putting in card info. The confirmation emails showed up right away too, so I wasn’t sitting there wondering if it went through. No issues with my card or anything afterward, so yeah, overall it was an easy, safe-feeling experience...

"Nice, clean place to visit"
I had a nice visit overall... the bathrooms were clean, and the paths were well kept too. Nothing fancy, but it was a pleasant experience.

"Still a fan, but a little let down"
I’ve always had a soft spot for this place and usually recommend it to people, so I feel a little conflicted saying this. There’s definitely a lot to see, and parts of it were still really enjoyable, but a few of the exhibits felt kind of empty or unfinished. I still like coming here and want to support it, but this visit didn’t quite live up to what I’ve come to expect.

Just a friendly warning for other parents: if you sign your kids up for one of the Detroit Zoo educational programs, don’t be surprised if they come home suddenly obsessed with habitats and conservation. We tried one recently, and my kids genuinely loved it. The staff explained the animals in a way that was easy for them to understand without making it feel like a boring lesson. They got to ask questions, stayed engaged the whole time, and were still talking about it later. It was organized, fun, and better than I expected. We’d definitely sign up again.

"Good lunch, but getting it was a hassle"
We grabbed lunch at the zoo it was way better than I expected. The fries were hot, the sandwich tasted fresh, and the kids actually ate everything without complaining. My only gripe is that it felt like a lot of effort just to get a quick meal, between finding the place, waiting, and juggling everyone, but the food itself was really good.

"Easy and helpful for planning our zoo trip"
I had a really good experience using Detroit Zoo. The site was simple to navigate, and I was happy that the accessibility information was easy to find. The text was clear, the pages loaded smoothly, and I didn’t have any trouble figuring out parking or other visit details. "Fun Night at Wild Lights"
I grabbed tickets for Wild Lights on detroitzoo.org and the whole process was super easy. The kids had a blast checking out all the light displays, and of course the hot cocoa was a big hit too. Definitely a fun family outing, and I’d recommend it if you’re looking for something festive to do. We’re already planning to come back for the fall events!

"I had a good experience…"
I had a good experience using Detroit Zoo to plan our visit. Buying tickets online was simple and definitely helped us save a little time once we got there. There was still a bit of a wait to get in, maybe around 15–20 minutes, but the line kept moving, so it wasn’t too bad. The only downside was the food lines, especially around lunchtime, which were slow. Overall though, the wait times were manageable for a busy day, and we still had a really nice time. I’d recommend planning ahead online and going in expecting a few lines, but it’s still worth the trip.

"Friendly, but I felt a bit rushed"
Everyone was really friendly, which I appreciated, but I did feel like things were moving a little too quickly. Maybe they were just busy, but it kind of felt like I was being hurried along instead of getting the time I needed.

"Easy visit with kids"
We had a good visit overall. one of the things I appreciated most was the restroom setup, which sounds random, but when you’ve got kids and someone suddenly has to go right after you bought snacks, it matters. We never had to walk too far, and the restrooms were easy to spot, even while juggling a water bottle and a half-eaten bag of pretzels. It made the whole day feel a lot less stressful

I’ll be honest, I was a little suspicious at first because I wasn’t sure if it would actually keep the kids entertained. But they ended up having a lot of fun here, so I guess it worked out better than I expected...

"Easy booking and fair prices"
I bought tickets through Detroit Zoo the prices felt fair for a full day out. I liked being able to look through the different options before paying, and there wasn’t some weird surprise fee popping up at the end, which was Nice. For everything you get, it felt worth it, and booking was easy enough too.

"We stopped by the Detroit Zoo gift shop…"
We stopped by the Detroit Zoo gift shop after our visit they had some cute, cute stuff. I ended up grabbing a hoodie for myself and a small plush for my niece, which she loved. The prices were pretty much what I expected for a zoo gift shop, not cheap cheap, but not outrageous either. The staff was friendly, checkout was quick, and it was just an easy little stop before heading out. I’d definitely shop there again.

"Showed up on a cool morning and…"
Showed up on a cool morning and my snap judgment was that it was going to be a average zoo day, but I was wrong fast. We ended up seeing way more animals than I expected. The lions were actually out, the polar bears were swimming, and even the red pandas were easy to spot for once. Sure, a few animals were napping, but almost every section had something going on. The kids never really got bored because there was always another animal to hunt for. Really good visit overall.

"Fun event, but the crowds were a lot"
I went to one of the special events at the zoo, it was a fun day overall. The place looked great, and the staff I talked to were friendly and helpful. That said, parking was a hassle, and the lines got frustrating quickly. I also felt like the tickets were a little pricey for what was included. In the end, I’m glad I went, but I’d probably only go again if I knew it wouldn’t be as crowded.

I got the feeling the animals were being looked after well. The enclosures looked clean and peaceful, and the staff seemed patient and gentle with them from what I could tell.

"Totally worth it for our family"
We got the family membership this year and it’s already paid for itself after just a few visits. It’s super easy to use at the gate, parking is included, and we don’t feel like we have to rush through the day when we go. If you live close by, it’s a really good deal imo. Defintely glad we did it.

"Really nice zoo visit"
Went to the Detroit Zoo last weekend and had a great time. The animal habitats looked really well kept, with lots of space, shade, and water areas, definitely not those tiny old-school cages you sometimes see. The penguin area was super clean too, which was nice. A few of the paths were kinda confusing to follow, but overall the animals’ spaces seemed really cared for. I’d definitely go back.
